Cure To Visionary Problem Bifocal Glasses

Cure To Visionary Problem - Bifocal Glasses & Spectacles
With the rising use of computers and more rigorous work life, visionary problems have seen a steady climb. More than millions of people are now suffering from vision disorders, which can be broadly classified into two kinds: 1) Myopia or nearsightedness where a person is not able to properly see objects at a distance and 2) Hyperopia or farsightedness where one has a problem to see nearby objects. A lot of people also suffer from both of these, and having two different glasses for both of them is not a viable solution. For example, let us imagine that the person suffering from both myopia and hyperopia is driving his car on an unknown highway. He has to watch for vehicles on the road and also have to look at the map in his hand. Using two different prescription glasses is obviously impossible in this condition. Bifocal glasses are the ideal solution to these situations. These glasses have different powers on the upper and the lower half of the lenses. The upper part is used for distance vision while the lower part is used for viewing nearby objects.

Earlier bifocal glasses were thick and heavy, which made wearing these glasses an uncomfortable affair. But now – a – days, thinner lenses have not only cured the weight problem but have also made bifocal glasses look attractive. Almost every retail and online store selling prescription glasses have a catalogue of bifocal glasses which flaunt unorthodox designs and superior quality. Finding a bifocal pair which suits your taste and style has become an easy matter of few clicks.

Bifocal lenses are also of different kinds, which share the basic function but their methods are different. Like in the ‘alternating’ lenses, the two halves are used for different prescription, much like the regular ones. The ‘simultaneous’ lenses have mixed powers, so it takes time for a user to get used to one. Two different kinds of lenses are worn in the two eyes, in case of mono-vision contact lenses. In the concentric lenses, the inner part of the lenses is used for the nearby vision while the outer part is used for the distance vision, and it can be used vice versa too. Getting a doctor’s prescription and opinion will be wise before selecting the kind of lenses you should opt for.

Adjusting to bifocal glasses is little difficult and it takes time. Choosing the correct half of lens to view according to the distance requires practice, and it is also known to cause headaches in the beginning which may range from few days to a couple of weeks.
